چکیده

Abstract Two experiments (EXP1 and EXP2) evaluated the effects of NutraGen (NG) on calf health following exposure to bovine viral diarrhea virus (BVDV) d -3 Mannheimia haemolytica (Mh) infection 0. For each EXP, steers (BW = 251 ± 38.2 kg) were randomly allocated 1 3 treatments (TRT). Treatments included a placebo (CON; EXP1 n 5; EXP2 5), fed from -18 followed by NG 28 (CHLG; 6), (PREC; 6; 5). There was no treatment time interaction (TRT×TME) or TRT effect for rectal temperatures (RT) clinical scores (CS) in CS (P ≥ 0.26). TRT×TME respiration rates (RR) during first 24 h Mh 0.04), tendency 14, overall ≤ 0.10). RT 14 0.04). RR 0.05). leukocytes 0.03) both EXP 0.001). neutrophils (NEU), lymphocytes (LYM), NEU:LYM 0.19); however, there multiple NEU, LYM, These suggest that has potential alter cellular responses respiratory disease challenge.

Persistent bovine viral diarrhea virus (BVDV) infection in cattle herds

Bovine viral diarrhea virus (BVDV) is a significant pathogen associated with gastrointestinal, respiratory, and reproductive diseases of cattle worldwide. It causes continuous economic losses to the cattle industry primarily due to decreased reproductive performance. The ability of virus to cross the placenta during early pregnancy can result in the birth of persistently infected (PI) calves. P...

Rumen temperature change monitored with remote rumen temperature boluses after challenges with bovine viral diarrhea virus and Mannheimia haemolytica.

Remote rumen temperature monitoring is a potential method for early disease detection in beef cattle. This experiment was conducted to determine if remotely monitored rumen temperature boluses could detect a temperature change in steers exposed to bovine viral diarrhea virus (BVDV) and challenged with a common bovine respiratory disease pathogen, Mannheimia haemolytica (MH). Twenty-four Angus c...

Effects of exposure to calves persistently infected with bovine viral diarrhea virus type 1b and Mannheimia haemolytica challenge on animal performance, nitrogen balance, and visceral organ mass in beef steers.

Bovine viral diarrhea viruses (BVDV) have been isolated alone or in combination with other viral and bacterial pathogens in animals diagnosed with bovine respiratory disease (BRD), a disease causing major economic loss to the feedlot industry. The objective of this experiment was to determine the effects of Mannheimia haemolytica challenge after short-term exposure (72 h) to bovine viral diarrh...

The first study of bovine immunodeficiency virus (BIV) and bovine viral diarrhea virus (BVDV) co- infection in industrial herds of cattle in two provinces of Iran

BIV is a well-known bovine immunosup-pressive cause, but its pathogenesis has not been well characterized. It seems that it is possible that cofactors such as co- infection with other bovine viral pathogens may play a role in enhancing the pathogenesis of BIV infection; BVDV also has immunosuppressive effects. OBJECTIVE: The aim of this study was determination of possible correlation between BI...

Prevalence of Persistent Bovine Viral Diarrhea Infection in Industrial Dairies of Tehran and Alborz Province, Iran

Background and Aims: Bovine viral diarrhea virus (BVDV) is considered as worldwide and economically significant infection. The aim of this study was to estimate prevalence of persistent bovine viral diarrhea infection (PI) in industrial dairies of Tehran and Alborz province, Iran. Materials and Methods: In this cross-sectional study, 102371 blood samples were collected from bovine of industria...
